Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to making Coding education accessible to every resident of Lagos State. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh stated this on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the commencement of a CodeLagos facilitators’ training at Herbert Macaulay Library, Yaba.
A total of 145 ICT instructors from 116 public and private schools in Lagos State participated in the 2-Day training which equipped them with the necessary competence and skills to effectively teach the coding classes in their respective schools. These schools are set to commence the computer programming training as part of the ongoing roll out of the 2nd Phase of the programme.
Currently, 104 schools have commenced the training while the Out-of-School centres are being set up for classes to start this quarter.
Participants in this training adjudged CodeLagos as a timely intervention by the State Government and expressed confidence in the Government to follow through with the project’s goals and objectives.
